Support for the teaching staff

Aim: to improve the teaching competences of the staff in the higher education system during 14-day domestic and foreign study visits.

The acquired teaching competences will be used when working with students.

We would like to inform you that we are launching a call for application forms to participate in a domestic or foreign Study Visit (14 days) aimed at improving the teaching competences in the field of innovative teaching skills during participation in training courses and study visits improving teaching competences of academic staff. Implemented as part of the project „WINDOW TO THE WORLD – integrated programme of JKU in Kielce for the development of the Świętokrzyskie region”. The Study Visit program will involve the participant carrying out a 14-day Study Visit, during which that peron is going to complete a minimum of 20h activities per week at the host institution. A Study Visit logbook will be created to record the activities along with the program. To coordinate the proper conduct of the Study Visit, a Study Visit supervisor will be provided by the centre to which a representative of the JKU teaching staff has been assigned, whose task will be to provide content-related and organisational support for the teaching staff at the site of the Study Visit. The Study Visit Supervisor will also be the interlocutor between JKU and the host institution to invite JKU staff via e.g. email, to their academic unit, for the Study Visit. One element of the Study Visit program will also consist in preparing the teaching staff to teach in a non-stereotypical and equal way, which allows women and men to be incorporated equally in all types of classes.

The aim of the Study Visit is for JKU teaching staff to acquire skills useful for conducting research and teaching work, to exchange experience in terms of educational methods and techniques, to establish scientific cooperation, and to improve their teaching skills. Participation in leading national and international research centres is intended to enable improving the skills of academic staff (especially staff involved in the learning process in the modified subjects) in terms of implementing teaching activities.

The condition after passing the recruitment period to go on a Study Visit is to get in touch with a member of staff of the host academic institution, i.e. the Study Visit supervisor, who should express, through an email, their willingness and possibility to come on a 14-day domestic or international Study Visit.

We would like to inform that we are issuing a call for application forms for a national internship - „Internship Jagiellonian University in Kraków – approx. 30 days” aimed at improving the teaching competences in the field of innovative teaching skills, implemented as part of the project „WINDOW TO THE WORLD – integrated program of JKU in Kielce for the development of the Świętokrzyskie region”. The internship program will involve the intern carrying out a minimum of 20h of internship activities per week. A trainee logbook with and a program will be created to record the activities. In order to coordinate the proper course of the internship, an internship supervisor from the centre to which the intern has been sent will be provided, whose task will be to provide substantive and organisational support. One of the elements of the internship program will also be to prepare the teaching staff to teach in a non-stereotypical and equal way that allows women and men to be equally included in all types of classes. The aim of the internships will also consist in raising the awareness that jobs in the medical industry are equally available to women and men including women and men with various levels of ability and from various backgrounds.

The aim of the internship is for JKU teaching staff to acquire skills useful for conducting research and teaching work, to exchange experience in terms of educational methods and techniques, to establish scientific cooperation, and to improve their teaching workshop. Participation in an internship at leading national centres intends to enable academic staff (particularly staff involved in the learning process in modified subjects) to improve their skills in terms of conducting classes.

Recruitment for the staff of the Medical College - between 3 and 5 January 2023 - for Certified Buteyko Method Instructor Course.

 
The Buteyko Method constitutes a manner of treating such conditions such as asthma, rhinitis, wheezing, anxiety, fatigue, snoring, obstructive sleep apnoea, and abnormal craniofacial growth. The course offers a solid practical and theoretical preparation in terms of the Buteyko method and prepares for conducting individual and group training.

The Objective Structured Clinical Examination, is a tool for assessing clinical skills. It constitutes the most commonly used method in evaluating student learning outcomes. During the course, participants will learn from the practical aspect of how to conduct the OSCE exam correctly.

Topics of the Forum: knowledge of how to provide knowledge in an interesting and engaging way, how to build relationships and involvement in a group, how to motivate to acquire knowledge, how to conduct classes in an innovative way taking advantage of the latest IT tools, how to safely use digital resources, how to efficiently organise the educational process in the post-pandemic era using the knowledge and experience gained from remote learning, how to create engaging presentations and acquire grants.
