External training/conferences

Representatives from our University will be attending/ participating in the following training courses and conferences. The knowledge gained from these meetings and the experiences of other universities in quality assurance in higher education are discussed at meetings of the University's Quality Assurance Committee (UKJK). The conclusions of the discussions are then disseminated by members of the UCQE - representatives of all faculties - in the individual units.

  • December 2017 "Accreditation, quality assurance and assessment of education at Polish universities"

On 1 December 2017, the seventh edition of the National Scientific and Training Conference on Quality of Education at Universities took place in Warsaw. This year, the conference was held under the theme "Accreditation, quality assurance and assessment of education at Polish universities". As every year, the conference provided an insight into the latest developments in the field of higher education law and the current criteria and principles for assessing the quality of university education. The advantage of the meeting was the topicality of the discussed subject, in the light of the repeated changes in the Law on Higher Education, relating, among others, to the issue of ensuring the quality of education and the assessment of this quality by accreditation institutions.

  • September 2017 "Developing model teacher education programmes"

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education organised a series of consultation meetings to diagnose the needs for teacher education as part of the project "Developing model teacher education programmes", co-financed by the European Union, implemented under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development. The aim of the project is to modernise teacher education in universities by developing exemplary teacher education programmes.

  • June 2017 "Training on the use of the IT system IQR for university staff"

On June 5, 2017, a training was held in Warsaw as part of the project "Implementation and maintenance of the Integrated Qualifications Register". The aim of the training was to present the functionality of the IQR system in the context of the Integrated Qualifications System and to discuss the rules for requesting the inclusion of market qualifications in the IQR register.

  • June 2017 "Validation and quality assurance in the IQS for market qualifications"

On 5-6 June 2017, an information seminar was held in Kielce as part of the project "Supporting the first stage of the implementation of the Integrated Qualifications System at the level of the central administration and the institutions awarding qualifications and ensuring the quality of qualifications awarding". Representatives of our University, who participated in the meeting, became acquainted with the possibilities of awarding marketable qualifications included in the IQS, conducting validation of learning outcomes required for qualifications and the principles of external quality assurance of qualifications awarding.

  • April 2017 "New model for programme evaluation in higher education"

On 11 April 2017, a meeting was held in Krakow as part of a series of seminars organised by the Polish Accreditation Commission for higher education institutions. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the changes to the legal basis for the assessment of the quality of education by the Polish Accreditation Committee and the principles and criteria for assessing the quality of education in fields of study with a general academic and practical profile (programme assessment), as well as the conditions for awarding grades. Representatives of our University also took part in a discussion on issues related to the evaluation of the quality of education in fields of study carried out by the Polish Accreditation Committee.

  • November 2016 "The logic behind the current changes to accreditation"

On 28 November 2016, a seminar titled "Logic of current changes in accreditation" was held in Warsaw, organised by the Foundation for Quality of Education on the initiative of KRASP (Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland). Participation in the seminar provided an insight into the changes taking place in the approach to educational quality assessment. Seminar participants were introduced to the amended Higher Education Act and the regulations issued under it. This is because the legislative changes imposed changes to the way the Polish Accreditation Commission operates, including the criteria for programme evaluation.

  • December 2016 "Accreditation and quality assurance in higher education. Changes, challenges, experiences"

On 1 December 2016, the sixth edition of the National Scientific and Training Conference on Quality of Education at Universities took place in Warsaw. Participants of the conference were familiarised with the changing rules and criteria for the evaluation of the quality of education carried out by the Polish Accreditation Committee (including the abolition of the institutional evaluation) under the amended Law on Education. In addition, drafts of new implementing acts of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to the Act were presented, which, among other things, set out the general criteria for programme evaluation by PAC (the detailed criteria and procedure for such evaluation will be defined by the Committee in its statutes) and familiarised participants with the changing rules for course documentation and the regulations on the conditions for conducting studies.

  • October 2015 "Validation of learning outcomes in higher education. Tools for the work of organisers, advisors and evaluators"

On 14 October 2015, the Institute of Educational Research held a conference in Warsaw on the "Confirmation of learning outcomes in higher education. Tools for the work of organisers, advisors and evaluators", organised in the framework of the project "Building the national qualification system - pilot implementation of the national qualification system and information campaign on its functioning". Participants learned what the amended Higher Education Act obliges universities to do, how to organise the process of verifying learning outcomes acquired outside the walls of universities, how to respond to the needs of university candidates who already have work experience, as well as what exactly the advisors and evaluators of this process will do.
