Rector of the Swietokrzyska Akademia of J. Kochanowski in Kielce

on the organisation of the ECTS credit system at the University

Pursuant to art. 49 sec.2 of the Act of 12 September 1990 on Higher Education (Jorunal of Laws No. 65, item385 as amended) and § 37 of the Statutes of the Swietokrzyska Academy of Jan Kochanowski in Kielce and in connection with the adoption by the Senate of Resolution No. 41/2003 of 30 October 2003 introducing the ECTS credit system, it is hereby ordered as follows:

§ 1

The Deputy Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs appoints ECTS credit system coordinators from among the academic staff employed at the University:

  1. university coordinator,
  2. faculty coordinators - at the request of the deans of the faculties,
  3. institute coordinators - at the request of deans of faculties in agreement with directors of institutes
§ 2

The responsibilities of the coordinator of the university's ECTS credit system include:

  1. promoting the ECTS credit system in the University
  2. providing practical assistance to University staff and students in the implementation of the ECTS credit system,
  3. liaising with faculty and institute coordinators,
  4. preparing part of the information package relating to the University;
  5. coordinating activities related to the preparation, printing and distribution of information packages to partner universities,
  6. contractual arrangements with the European Committee and the Socrates Erasmus National Agency
§ 3
  1. The responsibilities of the faculty coordinators of the university's ECTS credit system include:
    1. overseeing the procedures related to the allocation of ECTS credits to subjects within the faculties,
    2. preparing part of the information packages relating to the faculty,
    3. promoting the ECTS system among students and faculty employees,
    4. coordination of networking activities with faculties of cooperating universities,
    5. acting as a liaison between cooperating universities (faculties),
    6. approving documentation on the recognition of periods of study undertaken at partner universities (application forms, learning agreement, transcript of records, etc.),
    7. providing conditions for incoming students to integrate into the life of the University.
  2. The responsibilities of the institute coordinators of the university's ECTS credit system include:
    1. allocating ECTS credits to subjects in a given field of study, in accordance with the rules laid down by the faculty council,
    2. preparing the programme-specific part of the information package,
    3. promoting the ECTS system among students and institute employees,
    4. taking steps to establish inter-university cooperation,
    5. assistance in the preparation of documents related to the recognition of studies undertaken at partner universities (applications, application forms, learning agreement, transcript of records, etc.),
    6. providing conditions for incoming students to integrate into the life of the Institute.
§ 4
  1. The Deans are required to make available the Guide to the European Credit System for potential institutional partners and students and teachers in the partner universities edited in accordance with the principles for the development of ECTS information packages.
  2. Bilateral agreements with foreign universities concerning student exchange are concluded by the Rector.
  3. The conditions for studying outside one's home faculty are set by the faculty or institute ECTS coordinator in consultation with the dean.
§ 5

The Ordinance shall enter into force on the date of signature.
