Resolution No. 41/2003

of the Senate of the Swietokrzyska Academy of J. Kochanowski in Kielce of 30 October 2003 amending Resolution No. 25/2001 of the Senate of the Swietokrzyska Academy of J. Kochanowski in Kielce of June 22, 2001 on the Study Regulations of the Świętokrzyska Academy of J. Kochanowski in Kielce

Pursuant to art. 144 sec.1 of the Act of 12 September 1990 on Higher Education (Journal of Laws No. 65, item385 as amended), it is resolved as follows:

§ 1

In the Study Regulations, constituting an annex to Resolution No. 25/2001 of the Senate of the Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce of 22 June 2001 on the Study Regulations, Section IVa entitled ECTS (ECTS) is introduced with the following wording:
"IV and the credit points system - ECTS"

§ 25a
  1. The ECTS credit system applies to all full-time, part-time and evening studies; vocational, master and supplementary master degrees.
  2. ECTS credits are the numerical value allocated to all subjects forming an integral part of the curriculum and culminating in credit with a grade or an examination. Points are also attributed to:
    • bachelor's and master's thesis,
    • elective subjects,
    • research or implementation works thematically related to a subject forming an integral part of the curriculum,
    • internships, insofar as they form an integral part of the curriculum and end with a grade.
  3. ECTS credits are not assigned to:
    • physical education classes,
    • library preparation classes,
    • traineeships that are not an integral part of the curriculum,
    • subjects enabling additional qualifications and entitlements to be obtained,
    • OHS and fire training,
    • other activities and training not included in the study plan.
  4. The number of ECTS credits a student must obtain in an academic year is 60, with 30 in a semester.
  5. The number of ECTS credits allocated to each subject should take into account the total number of hours of all forms of learning within the course and the varying labour intensity of the forms of learning.
  6. The number of credits allocated to the various forms of coursework related to the completion of the bachelor's and master's thesis is determined by the faculties' councils.
  7. The grade scale used in the ECTS system, A, B, C, D, E, F, FX, is assigned the following grades used at the Świętokrzyska Academy:
    A - 5,0
    B - 4,5
    C - 4,0
    D - 3,5
    E - 3,0
    F, FX- 2,0
  8. The rules for allocating the number of credits to individual subjects are laid down by the Faculty Council at the proposal of the dean.
§ 25b
  1. A student completes a year when he or she has obtained at least 60 credits and has passed all subjects in accordance with the requirements set out in the plans and curricula for the field of study. The accumulated surplus points carry over to the following year.
  2. In order to be admitted to the master's or bachelor's examination, it is a prerequisite to have fulfilled the requirements of the study plans and curricula for the field of study and to have gained at least:
    • 300 ECTS credits for a long-cycle master programme (lasting 10 semesters)
    • 180 ECTS credits for vocational studies (lasting 6 semesters)
    • 120 ECTS credits for complementary master's studies (lasting 4 semesters)
§ 2

Amendments to the study regulations shall enter into force once the conditions laid down in art.144 sec. 2 and 3 of the Act of 12 September 1990 on Higher Education are met

§ 3

The resolution shall enter into force on the date of its adoption
